Thank you so much for taking your time to help. Please would you help me to understand rabbits by taking part in this research project. If you think you might be interested, please read the following instructions and then decide if you would like to take part.

You must be 18 or over and live in the UK to participate in this study.

We need you to film 5 simple tasks with your rabbit and complete a 5 minute questionnaire, you will then be placed into a prize draw to win a £50 prize.
The winner of the prize will be announced on (TBC) and will be contacted by email.

You are welcome to enroll several of your rabbits into the study. If you have more than one rabbit and would only like to film one, please film your rabbit whose name comes first alphabetically.

The Video

Participants will be asked to film themselves doing as many of these tasks as possible:
A. Giving your pet rabbit a treat

B. Petting your rabbit as you would normally for up to 2 minutes

C. Checking your rabbit’s nails as you would normally

D. Inspecting your rabbits bottom e.g. for wetness as you would normally

E. Show us how you would normally move your rabbit to another area over a distance of approximately 3 metres

The video should not take longer than 10 minutes, please run the video continuously.

It’s really important that you treat your rabbit as you do normally. For example: If you do not normally pick up your rabbit demonstrate how you would do these tasks without picking up your rabbit.

Email the video to rabbitsurvey.info@gmail.com with your rabbit’s name as the subject.

Please go to the Video tab for more in-depth instructions.

The Questionnaire

Once the video has been received you will be sent a questionnaire via email about rabbit handling and behaviour.
The questionnaire has 7 sections and will take approximately 5 minutes.
The first section of the questionnaire is asking for your unique code. This will be emailed to you after you email your video.
Please see the Questionnaire tab on this website for more information.

By sending the video, you are consenting to be enrolled in the study. You can withdraw from the study at any time (even after emailing the video) by emailing rabbitsurvey.info@gmail.com.

The videos and questionnaires will be viewed only by the rabbit research team from the University of Bristol and will be destroyed after 10 years. All information which is collected during the research will be kept strictly confidential, email addresses, rabbit names and surnames will be removed so that you cannot be recognised.

Results will be made available to participants through email when published. Participants will not be identified in any report/publication.

Feel free to email at rabbitsurvey.info@gmail.com with any further questions.

Many thanks,

Emily-Ann Evans
